Sinks
- Cleaning
Stubborn stains on Fragranite sinks can be removed using biological washing
powder or a concentration of dishwasher powder (sometimes left overnight).
Diluted Bleach may also be used but not allowed to dry on the surface. Other
proprietary cleaners such as Bar Keepers Friend or Shiny Sinks for stainless
steel are also recommended.
- Cut-outs
Except when specifically advised always use a 20mm radius at the corner of the
cut-out.
Ceramic Sinks
- Punching tap holes.
Always punch or drill from the top. Measure to find the centre of the pre-punched
tap hole required and cover the area with masking tape. Using a centre punch,
crack the glaze in the centre of the required hole. Using a number eight masonry
drill, carefully drill a small pilot hole from the top. NB. Only drill one small hole.
You can then proceed to enlarge the hole to the required size by carefully using
your hammer with the centrepunch.
Wastes
On the uneven surface of Ceramic sinks use mastic under the flange to avoid
water seepage.
Taps
In certain situations taps may need ‘bracing’on the underside of the sink. It is
also advisable to provide additional support by fitting a batten with pipe clips to
the end of the copper tails near to the compression fittings.
Use compression fittings at all times - refer to Installation Instructions.
Never use general cleaners on tap finishes, only mild detergent (washing up
liquid) otherwise the guarantee may be invalidated.
Accessories
Chopping boards must be regularly oiled to prolong their life and should be dried
by inverting them to avoid warp. Do not use sharp objects in baskets as this will
cut the coating and reduce the life of the basket.
Waste Disposer Units
When fitting W.D.U’s to single bowl sinks a connection kit is available for
connecting the overflow up to the unit. Alternatively a blanking plate may be
required.
General
Always read and follow the Installation Instructions where provided prior to
installation and retain in the event of requiring service or spares.
