Hood Features
Identify the various features of Franke hoods using this at-a-glance guide.
Sound Insulation
Effective sound insulation is important in ensuring a calm, welcoming kitchen environment. Whether
it's sound dampening comfort panels in perimetric units or the silent kit cushions inside the central
unit of other extractors, you can be sure of unrivalled noise reduction performance in all Franke hoods.
At normal operating levels, Franke hoods have a noise level of just 55dB(A), which is quiet enough to comfortably get on with whatever you're doing without disturbance.
Washable Filters
All of the filters in Franke hoods are washable which extends their life-span and preserves their
efficiency. The filters can be conveniently removed and require no special cleaning products to get them
back in pristine condition. Just put them in the dishwasher.
Control types
Franke hoods offer a variety of technologically advanced control systems that combine ease of use
with striking aesthetics. The various units possess either functional push button, electronic, or the
sleek smooth look of a touch control system. Even a remote control is an option on some models.
Extraction Speed Settings
All Franke Hoods come fully equipped with a variety of speed settings, ranging from 3 up to an 8
speed model. Some units also include an intense setting, for short, powerful bursts to remove unpleasant
odours as quickly as possible.

Automatic Cut Off Timer
Large, modern kitchens combined with the reduced noise of Franke hoods make it easy to forget
that the hood is running. To put your mind at rest, we equip our products with an automatic
cut off timer. This feature is also extremely useful for those who wish to leave the extractor
running for a short while after leaving the kitchen to remove any lingering smells.
Continuous 24 Hour ventilation
Keep your kitchen feeling fresh and clear of unwanted odours with the 24 hour ventilation
function which provides a constant flow of clean air running through the room at various intervals.
Digital Display
Utilising the latest in digital technology, Franke offer simple and versatile controls for
the hood. Attractively illuminated digital displays are features of some of the more advanced
electronic and touch controlled units.
Filtering Function
Where a Franke hood is installed in an environment where no external flue is available, fumes
can be managed by recycling the air going into the unit. These models utilise the latest charcoal
filters to trap undesired odours.
Charcoal filters
Required on all recycling hood units, charcoal filters are used to catch unwanted odours and
are supplied in either circular or square format, depending on the model. Please check models for
configuration.
Types of Motor
Whether it's the excellent K40, K50, HIP motor, the high performance ENERGY or the unbeatable
quiet and efficient Pro-Motor, you can always expect quality, reliability and superb power under
your Franke extractor hood.

Perimetric Extraction
Perimeter method extraction offers superior levels of efficiency, with air flowing around the
edges of the hood panels. Based on the principles of the Venturi effect, air accelerates as it passes
through the constricted space, then decreases immediately as it enters the hood, providing terrific
extraction without requiring added pressure.
Easy-fit system
With the innovative easy-fit system, installing a hood becomes as easy as hanging a picture.
The hood slides right into the centrally mounted core, giving superb accessibility for maintenance,
plus the ability to clean quickly and easily without the need for technical assistance.
Remote Control
Some Franke hoods offer the option of remote control operation, for the ultimate in
technological luxury in the kitchen.
